Asset Management Techniques

Friday, August 27th, 2010

How does one go about taking care of one’s property - one’s worldly belongings? Well, most people keep their money in the bank, store the jewellery in a safe and insure the rest. But insurance is not really taking care of your assets, is it? It is taking care of yourself so that you do not have renew them with your own money.

In the old days, and even now, I suppose in some countries, you would employ a boy to watch over your sheep or cattle or bring them in at night for fear of lions, wolves or thieves. These were an early kind of security guard and indeed wealthy people had and frequently still do have private body guards.

What if you had a substantial office with a hundred laptop computers - laptops because employees had to do field work as well? How would you keep track on all those? A car is another good case in point and construction site plant is being stolen all the time even from under the watchful gaze of (or with the help of) private security firms.

So what can you do? Get dogs? That works sometimes, but they can be poisoned. Get video cameras and passive infra-red movement sensors linked to a control centre? That works and many firms and private houses have it, but it is very expensive.

As a cheap alternative, the police were giving out free pens in the UK, which wrote in invisible ink. The idea was to write your postcode and house number. This ink became visible under a special kind of light. That is fine if you have a suspect or found property.

Bar codes are not practical, the pen is better. It all comes back to insurance or surveillance.

However, there is another technique that is becoming affordable. The concept has been around for about 85 years, but it was too expensive to use on anything less significant than an airplane or a battle tank.

I am talking about radio frequency identification or RFID for short. The idea is the same one that aircraft have been using since during the Second World War - a transponder emits precoded information in response to a demand from an RF reader.

Information concerning ownership and particulars of what the item is can be written to an RFID chip also known as a tag and the tag can then be taped inside the object that it is to safeguard.

There are two varieties of tag: the passive and the active. Passive tags will only reply if information is requested by a reader, whereas an active tag is always broadcasting.

Many entrepreneurs use RFID tagging to keep track of their assets. In the instance of livestock, most cattle are tagged these days. Most big offices have their IT devices tagged as well and we all know that clothing stores have been tagging garments for years, although maybe you did not know what that button was that they were taking off at the checkout.

Individuals are already tagging their dogs, cats and cars and it will not be long before these asset management techniques will be used extensively at home as well. Insurance companies may demand on it.

Owen Jones, the author of this article writes on several topics, but is currently concerned with the RFID asset management. If you would like to know more, please go to our website at Active RFID Management.

Profiting From Forex Trading: Basics And Opportunity

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

The foreign currency exchange market is easily the largest marketplace anywhere in the world. Larger than any stock market, the volume of currency that is exchanged on the forex market each day exceeds a trillion dollars. Once the domain of banks, governments, large corporations or the super-rich, it’s now becoming more popular with small investors too, like you.

The forex market basically boils down to exchanging currencies between countries. Every time something is purchased from one currency to the next, currencies are being exchanged. In addition to that, you can actually trade these currencies in hopes that they will go up or down in price with a forex broker.

Let’s say that you are comparing the United States Dollar to the Great Britain Pound. If you thought that the United States Dollar would appreciate in value as compared to the Great Britain Pound, then you would buy. Then if the currency exchange rate goes up, you close out the trade and you’ve made the difference between what you bought it at and what you sold it for.

The difference between what you paid and what you received at the end of the trade is your profit. The pricing of currencies is quoted in pips and these are the basic units of all currencies. Your ultimate goal as a forex trader is to try and find the right currencies to trade to gain as many pips as possible.

There are a lot of different strategies available to trade forex including scalping, swing trading, and trending. Scalping is one of the most popular methods of trading and it utilizes a lot of quick, small transactions. You decide to buy a certain currency and then you sell it a few moments later. In this manner, you can gain a lot of small profits and hopefully minimize any risk to your account.

There are some amazingly versatile forex trading products, services and programs available to help solidify your trading strategies and formulate your research basis. These can range from coaching programs to forex robots that generate automated trading signals. If you haven’t ventured into the forex market before, then learning materials can be of huge assistance to you while your experience levels grow. Just be sure you investigate any programs or products you find before you pay money.

Digital products, or informational books that you download to your computer, are a great idea. The only problem is that you can’t verify what’s inside until after you’ve paid your money. Always see if you can find reviews for the product you’re considering. Join forex-related forums and ask questions of actual traders who are using the programs and systems you want.

The same rules apply when it comes to choosing your forex broker. The foreign currency exchange is a global market and the internet is a global medium, so if you don’t check where your broker is located, you may find they’re operating from a country with less-strict regulations. If you can, try to choose a broker operating from the same country in which you live.

While the forex market can be incredibly lucrative, it can also be equally volatile. Take a bit of time to learn how the market place works before you begin trading.

Want to try out forex trading? They are incredibly effective. Check out this forex trading system here now.

Halo 3

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Recently, while looking through the Internet for information on the Halo 3 weapons cheats, I came across a number of what-if situations? What if Master Chief took on different famous characters from movies, comic books, and legends? Here is a list of some of these battles and my take on the outcome.

While technically not a Halo 3 weapon cheat, the match-up of Master Chief versus Robocop would be a hot one. According to the information on the Internet both have some similarities. They’re both human, they’ve both been improved on, they both have fantastic armour and they are both veteran combatants. Most respondents thought that Master Chief would defeat Robocop, but let’s face facts, Master Chief can be defeated with a hand-gun, whereas Robocop kept on going after being blown up at a gas station. The nod has to go to Robocop.

If Master Chief battled with the next combatant he would need to have a Halo 3 weapon cheat. The next is MacGyver. Master Chief has a lot of advantages. He is proficient with a variety of weapons; he has that fantastic armour; he has some incredible vehicles at his disposal; he’s a Clint Eastwood type loner and he can repair himself. However, in short, MacGyver is brain over brawn. It would probably come down to the same considerations in a fight between Batman and Superman. However, if it’s a closed arena where it’s man versus man, Master Chief is going to win. But put this battle in the real world with Swiss army knives and duct tape at his disposal, and MacGyver’s going to murder our futuristic pal.

‘Till now Master Chief is 2-0 down, it’s starting to look like he could really use a Halo 3 weapon cheat. But we’ll give him another go. This time it’s Master Chief versus Terminator. We already know Master Chief’s strengths, the Terminator’s are an ability to master every weapon, relentless willpower, doesn’t get tired, amazing detrermination to kill his prey. It all comes down to the Spartan laser weapon. As one voter said, if Master Chief can destroy vehicles with this weapon he can certainly put a pretty big hole in the Terminator too.

Let’s have another contest before Master Chief finds his Halo 3 weapon cheat. What can he do against Boba Fett from Star Wars? The main differences between Master Chief and Boba Fett are that Boba has no shields, owns his own ship and has a jet pack.

Many people believe Star Wars comes out on top in this battle, but Master Chief’s weapons are much more powerful than those shown by the bounty hunter. This one makes it two all, Master Chief goes 50-50.

So, those are the results of the survey - the people have spoken. In this small poll that we found on the Internet, Master Chief is your average kind of super hero, who is not sure to win every single bout, unless he finds his weapon cheats or the story writers want him to, that is.

If you like Halo 3 and are interested in finding out more about it, why not visit Halo 3 Info on our web site entitled Halo 3 Insider Secrets

Microsoft SQL Computer Training And Study Around The UK Insights

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

What kind of things might a person searching for Microsoft certified training expect to discover? Obviously, training organisations should be offering a variety of different options that match the needs of Microsoft certified training paths.

You might like to talk about career options with a training advisor - and should you be confused, then take counsel on whereabouts in industry would work for you, dependent on your abilities and personality.

When you’ve settled on the job you’d like to get into, a relevant course needs to be singled out that’s suits your ability level and skill set. This can be personally tailored for your requirements.

Some training companies only provide basic 9am till 6pm support (maybe a little earlier or later on certain days); not many go late into the evening (after 8-9pm) or cover weekends properly.

Locate training schools where you can receive help at any time of the day or night (irrespective of whether it’s the wee hours on Sunday morning!) You want direct access to tutors, and not simply some messaging service that means you’re constantly waiting for a call-back at a convenient time for them.

As long as you look hard, you will find the very best companies who recommend and use online support 24×7 - including evenings, nights and weekends.

Don’t under any circumstances take a lower level of service. Online 24×7 support is the only way to go with IT learning. Maybe late-evening study is not your thing; but for most of us, we’re at work when traditional support if offered.

It’s usual for students to get confused with one area of their training very rarely considered: The method used to ’segment’ the courseware before being couriered to your address.

The majority of training companies will set up a program typically taking 1-3 years, and courier the materials in pieces as you complete each section or exam. Sounds reasonable? Well consider these facts:

It’s not unusual for trainees to realise that their providers usual training route isn’t as suitable as another. They might find a slightly different order suits them better. And what happens if they don’t finish inside of the expected timescales?

To be straight, the best option is to obtain their recommendation on the best possible order of study, but make sure you have all of your learning modules right from the beginning. It’s then all yours if you don’t manage to finish as fast as they’d like.

Validated exam simulation and preparation software is essential - and must be supplied by your training supplier.

Confirm that your practice exams are not only asking questions from the right areas, but also asking them in the exact format that the real exams will structure them. This can really throw some students if they’re met with completely different formats and phraseologies.

It’s a good idea to ask for exam preparation tools that will allow you to check your understanding at any point. Mock exams log the information in your brain - then the actual exam is much easier.

The perhaps intimidating chore of finding your first IT job can be relieved by some training providers because they offer a Job Placement Assistance facility. With the huge demand for appropriately skilled people in Great Britain even when times are hard, there isn’t a great need to place too much emphasis on this feature however. It isn’t such a complex operation to find employment once you’re trained and certified.

Bring your CV up to date as soon as possible however (advice and support for this should come from your course provider). Don’t wait until you’ve graduated or passed any exams.

A good number of junior support jobs have been offered to trainees who’re still on their course and have still to get qualified. At the very least this will get you on your way.

Most often, a specialist locally based recruitment consultancy (who will get paid by the employer when they’ve placed you) is going to give you a better service than a centralised training company’s service. It also stands to reason that they’ll know the area and local employers better.

Please make sure you don’t put hundreds of hours of effort into your studies, and then do nothing more and leave it in the hands of the gods to find you a job. Take responsibility for yourself and get out there. Invest as much resource into landing your new role as it took to pass the exams.

Why PCs Are Better Than Laptops

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

These days, many people own laptops or PCs or both, finding it convenient to have a computer for their own use. These include people who have a home-based business or are in the habit of working at home, students and people who use it for recreation, such as surfing the Internet, chatting, watching videos and gaming. If you are thinking of getting either one for yourself, there are several things you should consider to ensure a suitable purchase.Actually, your purchase will probably be mainly dictated by your budget. In general, the desktop provides more computing power compared to a similarly priced laptop. It is not difficult to find a unit with many performance features for a reasonable price, which makes it a better choice.

Price. Cost is always a major consideration in any purchase. Typically, you would want as many performance features as possible at a reasonable price. In this area, a desktop is the better choice.

Peripherals and accessories. Both options come out roughly the same, meaning you would probably spend the same amount for peripherals and accessories. However, in terms of space, desktops take up a lot of it, while the laptop is basically a self-contained unit with less wires and other hardware to deal with. The latter is a good choice if you live in a small space that cannot house you and a desktop at the same time.

If you are interested in customizing the specifications of your computer, making it better, faster and stronger, PCs have the advantage over laptops. You don’t have to replace your computer with a new unit in order to get more RAM, a better video card or processor. Aside from having more leeway on upgrades, desktops are also easier and less expensive to repair.

A desktop would also be a better buy if you need more storage for files and programs, or a powerful computer with a good video card for gaming. On the other hand, if you need to be able to use a computer anytime and anywhere, a laptop is your best bet. In general, your lifestyle and how you intend to use your computer is another important consideration.

The above are just some general considerations in buying a computer. If you can afford it, why not get both-a reasonably priced laptop for mobility and an inexpensive desktop for your printing and storing files. With the number of available brands and models of chic and mobile laptops, as well as robust and powerful PCs, a limited budget should not stop you from getting a computer that meets your requirements.

Even though people use phones to do some computing, most of it is still done on PCs. Most people have laptops and smartphones nowadays, and both of them are very useful for their own kind of computing.

Birthday Cards of the 21st Century

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

There are so many birthday greeting cards available at every grocery and convenience store. Most of them have very similar designs and content, which is boring and predictable after years and years of getting the same thing. They require you to drive to go pick them up, go to the post office to get stamps and mail it, and then you have no idea what day it is actually going to arrive because there is a 2 to 8 day window for standard mail.

Singing happy birthday cards are also an option, and they are becoming very popular. However, sending it through mail has certain downsides because they could get lost, mixed up in other people’s mail, or get damaged and broken which defeats the whole purpose of sending a singing birthday card.

As we all know, sending a card through the snail mail puts it at the risk of a lot of factors that may affect the time that your friend or loved one receives your birthday greeting. Rain, snow, accidents, or increased security measures can all delay the arrival of the card for days to weeks - if it ever gets there.

However, there is a new way for you to send you birthday greeting that is fast and easy at the same time, and you do not have to worry about the timing or if they receive it. This new birthday greeting card is the newest and the latest birthday card that you may be able to give your friend or loved one on their birthday.

The birthday ecard is the most practical and efficient way of greeting people who are important to us, people who we believe deserve nothing but the best of us. It is not just sending them good and quality greeting cards but also a heartfelt greeting that even when we are miles away, amidst our absence our presence will surely be felt.

With the birthday ecard, you are also assured that the card that you sent to your friend or loved one on their birthday will be received on time. Because this birthday greeting card is being sent with the use of your email, it’s instant, in this way sending your greeting is made much more reliable.

Add to the plus points of these birthday ecard are its easiness to be made. People often think that because it involves the use of computers and the internet then it complicated. However, this is not true since these ecards are actually very easy to make. Plus, you will have a lot of options for the design of the card or the style, whether you like it to sing, or play videos.

So make the right choice and pick a great card. The happy birthday cards on the birthday ecard will surely make someone’s birthday complete and a memorable one. The good news is that you made it all possible by sending a birthday ecard.

It’s a great idea to send a personalized birthday ecard to your friends and family on the day of their birthday. You can check out happy birthday cards or other gifts online, at happybirthday.com.

Choosing The Right CompTIA Network Plus Training - Update

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

In this day and age, many workplaces would be severely hampered were it not for support workers mending PC’s and networks, while giving advice to users each and every day. Our country’s need for increasing numbers of commercially qualified individuals is growing, as we become ever more dependent on PC’s in the modern world.

We can see a plethora of work available in IT. Finding the particular one out of this complexity often proves challenging.

Because having no commercial background in Information Technology, in what way could we know what any job actually involves?

Achieving a well-informed answer only comes from a meticulous study across many different areas:

* Which type of person you think yourself to be - the tasks that you find interesting, plus of course - what you definitely don’t enjoy.

* What length of time can you allocate for retraining?

* Where do you stand on job satisfaction vs salary?

* Considering all that IT encompasses, it’s important to be able to absorb how they differ.

* You should also think long and hard about any sacrifices you’ll need to make, as well as what commitment and time that you will set aside for gaining your certifications.

To cut through the industry jargon, and uncover the best path to success, have an informal meeting with an advisor with years of experience; an individual that understands the commercial reality while explaining each accreditation.

Doing your bit in revolutionary new technology really is electrifying. Your actions are instrumental in impacting progress around the world.

We’re at the dawn of starting to comprehend how all this change will affect us. The way we correlate with the world as a whole will be significantly affected by technology and the web.

And keep in mind that typical remuneration in the world of IT in the United Kingdom is significantly better than the national average salary, therefore you’ll be in a good position to earn much more as a trained IT professional, than you’d get in most other industries.

With the IT marketplace increasing year on year, it’s predictable that the search for appropriately qualified IT professionals will remain buoyant for the significant future.

Often, students don’t think to check on something of absolutely vital importance - the way their training provider segments the training materials, and into how many bits.

A release of your materials piece by piece, according to your own speed is the usual method of releasing your program. This sounds logical, but you must understand the following:

Students often discover that the company’s standard order of study is not what they would prefer. Sometimes, it’s more expedient to use an alternative order of study. And what happens if they don’t finish at the pace they expect?

In an ideal situation, you’d get ALL the training materials right at the beginning - giving you them all to come back to at any time in the future - as and when you want. Variations can then be made to the order that you complete each objective if you find another route more intuitive.

Exam ‘guarantees’ are sometimes offered as part of a training package - they always involve paying for the exam fees up-front, when you pay for the rest of your course. Before you jump at this so-called guarantee, be aware of the facts:

Certainly it’s not free - you’re still coughing up for it - the cost has just been rolled into the whole training package.

People who enter their exams one by one, funding them one at a time are much better placed to get through first time. They are conscious of their spending and take the necessary steps to be up to the task.

Find the best exam deal or offer available at the time, and avoid college mark-up fees. You’ll also be able to choose where to do your exams - which means you can stay local.

Buying a course that includes payments for examination fees (which also includes interest if you’ve taken out a loan) is bad financial management. Resist being talked into filling the training company’s account with extra money of yours simply to help their cash-flow! Many will hope you won’t get round to taking them - so they get to keep the extra funds.

Re-takes of previously unsuccessful exams through companies with an ‘Exam Guarantee’ are monitored with tight restrictions. They’ll insist that you take mock exams first till you’ve proven conclusively that you can pass.

The cost of exams was about 112 pounds last year via VUE or Pro-metric centres in the UK. So what’s the point of paying maybe a thousand pounds extra to get ‘an Exam Guarantee’, when common sense dictates that the responsible approach is a commitment to studying and the use of authorised exam preparation tools.

CompTIA IT Courses In Interactive Format - Insights

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

In the modern world, support workers who can mend PC’s and networks, along with giving ongoing solutions to users, are hugely valuable in all sections of industry. Whereupon we’re all becoming more and more beholden to advanced technology, we simultaneously become more reliant on the technically knowledgeable network engineers, who keep the systems going.

Working on the leading edge of new technology gives you the best job satisfaction ever. You’re involved with impacting progress around the world.

We’ve barely started to get a feel for how technology will affect our lives in the future. The internet will profoundly change how we regard and interact with the world around us over the coming decades.

Always remember that income in IT in Great Britain is much more than in the rest of the economy, which means you will probably gain considerably more with professional IT knowledge, than you’d expect to earn elsewhere.

As the IT industry keeps growing nationally and internationally, the chances are that the requirement for well trained and qualified IT technicians will continue to boom for years to come.

Considering how a program is ‘delivered’ to you is often missed by many students. How many parts is the training broken down into? What is the order and how fast does each element come?

By and large, you’ll enrol on a course that takes between and 1 and 3 years and get posted one section at a time - from one exam to the next. While this may sound logical on one level, consider this:

Many students find that the company’s ’standard’ path of training isn’t the easiest way for them. They might find it’s more expedient to use an alternative order of study. Perhaps you don’t make it in the allotted time?

For maximum flexibility and safety, many trainees now want to request that all their modules (now paid for) are sent immediately, and not in a piecemeal fashion. It’s then your own choice in what order and how fast or slow you want to go.

Be on the lookout that any qualifications you’re studying for are recognised by industry and are up-to-date. Training companies own certificates are often meaningless.

All the major commercial players like Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or Adobe each have globally renowned skills programmes. Major-league companies like these will make your CV stand-out.

Proper support should never be taken lightly - ensure you track down something offering 24×7 direct access to instructors, as anything less will not satisfy and will also put a damper on the speed you move through things.

You’ll be waiting ages for an answer with email based support, and telephone support is usually to a call-centre that will just take down the issue and email it over to their technical team - who will then call back sometime over the next 24hrs, at a time suitable for them. This is all next to useless if you’re lost and confused and only have a specific time you can study.

Top training companies use multiple support centres from around the world. By utilising an interactive interface to join them all seamlessly, no matter what time you login, help is at hand, without any problems or delays.

If you accept anything less than direct-access 24×7 support, you’ll regret it very quickly. You might not want to use the service late in the night, but consider weekends, early mornings or late evenings.

IT Career Courses Around The UK Revealed

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

There are a total of 4 specialist training sectors in the A+ syllabus, but you’re just required to achieve pass marks in 2 to gain A+ competency. But only studying two of the specialised areas might well not equip you for a job. Choose a course with all 4 subjects - for greater confidence in the world of work.

Once you start your A+ training program you’ll become familiar with how to build and repair PC’s and operate in antistatic conditions. You’ll also cover fault finding and diagnostics, through both hands-on and remote access.

Should you be thinking of taking care of computer networks, you should add Network+ to the CompTIA A+ training you’re doing. This qualification will enable you to command a more senior job role. Other ones that might be interesting to you are the route to networking via Microsoft, in the form of MCP’s, MCSA or the full MCSE.

The market provides a myriad of employment in the IT industry. Finding the particular one in this uncertainty is generally problematic.

How can we possibly grasp what is involved in a particular job when it’s an alien environment to us? We normally don’t even know anybody who is in that area at all.

To attack this, a discussion is necessary, covering several core topics:

* Your personality type and what you’re interested in - the sort of work-centred jobs you love or hate.

* Why it seems right stepping into IT - maybe you’d like to overcome a long-held goal like working for yourself maybe.

* Where is the salary on a scale of importance - is it very important, or is job satisfaction a lot higher on the scale of your priorities?

* With so many different sectors to gain certifications for in computing - there’s a need to gain a basic understanding of what sets them apart.

* Having a good look at what commitment and time that you’re going to put into it.

In these situations, it’s obvious that the only real way to investigate these areas tends to be through a good talk with an experienced advisor who has a background in IT (and specifically the commercial requirements.)

Massive developments are coming via technology over the next generation - and the industry becomes more ground-breaking every year.

We’re only just starting to get an inclination of how technology will influence everything we do. The internet will massively alter how we see and interact with the entire world over the coming decades.

The average IT employee throughout Britain will also earn significantly more money than employees on a par outside of IT. Standard IT wages are hard to beat nationally.

It would appear there’s no end in sight for IT jobs expansion in the UK. The market sector is continuing to expand hugely, and we don’t have anywhere near enough qualified skilled IT professionals to fill current job vacancies, so it’s not likely that this will change significantly for a good while yet.

We can guess that you’ve always enjoyed practical work - the ‘hands-on’ personality type. If you’re like us, the world of book-reading and classrooms is something you’ll make yourself do if you have to, but you really wouldn’t enjoy it. You should use video and multimedia based materials if you’d really rather not use books.

Where we can get all of our senses involved in our learning, then we normally see dramatically better results.

Locate a program where you’ll receive a library of CD and DVD ROM’s - you’ll learn by watching video tutorials and demonstrations, with the facility to hone your abilities through virtual lab’s.

Each company you’re contemplating should be able to show you some examples of their courseware. Expect video tutorials, instructor led classes and a wide selection of interactive elements.

Often, companies will only use purely on-line training; while you can get away with this much of the time, consider how you’ll deal with it when you don’t have access to the internet or you get intermittent problems and speed issues. A safer solution is the provision of physical CD or DVD discs that removes the issue entirely.

Can job security truly exist anywhere now? In a marketplace like the UK, with industry changing its mind on a day-to-day basis, we’d question whether it does.

In actuality, security now only emerges through a swiftly escalating marketplace, pushed forward by a shortfall of trained staff. This shortage creates the appropriate setting for a secure market - definitely a more pleasing situation.

The Information Technology (IT) skills shortage around the country clocks in at over 26 percent, as noted by the 2006 e-Skills survey. Therefore, for each 4 job positions in existence around IT, employers are only able to locate properly accredited workers for 3 of the 4.

This one notion alone shows why the United Kingdom urgently requires so many more workers to get trained and become part of the IT industry.

Unquestionably, now, more than ever, really is the very best time to join IT.

Cisco Training Online Across The UK Examined

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

If your search is for Cisco training but you’ve no working knowledge of routers, what you need is a CCNA. This program has been designed to train students who want a working knowledge of routers. Many large organisations who have different locations use them to join up computer networks in different rooms to allow their networks to keep in touch. The Internet also is made up of hundreds of thousands of routers.

To take this course, you should be clear on computer networks and how they operate and function, because computer networks are joined to routers. Otherwise, you’ll probably struggle. You might look for a course covering basic networking skills (for example Network+, perhaps with A+) before getting going with CCNA. Look for a training provider that can offer this as a career package.

Find a tailored course that takes you on a progressive path to ensure you’ve got the appropriate skills and abilities before starting your training in Cisco skills.

Proper support should never be taken lightly - find a program providing 24×7 full access, as anything less will frustrate you and could put a damper on the speed you move through things.

Be wary of any training providers that use ‘out-of-hours’ call-centres - where an advisor will call back during the next ‘working’ day. It’s not a lot of help when you’ve got study issues and need help now.

We recommend looking for colleges that incorporate three or four individual support centres from around the world. Every one of them needs to be seamlessly combined to provide a single interface as well as access round-the-clock, when it suits you, with no fuss.

Seek out a training company that goes the extra mile. As only true 24×7 round-the-clock live support provides the necessary backup.

Getting into your first IT role is often made easier with a Job Placement Assistance service. But don’t place too much emphasis on it - it isn’t unusual for companies marketing departments to overstate it’s need. In reality, the still growing need for IT personnel in Britain is what will enable you to get a job.

CV and Interview advice and support may be available (alternatively, check out one of our sites for help). Ensure you update that dusty old CV today - don’t wait until you’ve finished your exams!

Having the possibility of an interview is more than not being known. Many junior support roles are got by people who are still at an early stage in their studies.

You can usually expect better results from a specialised and independent local recruitment service than you’ll experience from any training provider’s recruitment division, as they’ll know the area better.

Fundamentally, as long as you focus the same level of energy into securing your first job as into studying, you won’t find it too challenging. Some trainees strangely invest a great deal of time on their course materials and then just stop once they’ve passed their exams and would appear to think that businesses will just discover them.

Doing your bit in revolutionary new technology gives you the best job satisfaction ever. You become one of a team of people creating a future for us all.

We’ve only just begun to get an inclination of how technology will define our world. The internet will massively change the way we regard and interrelate with the world as a whole over the coming years.

If earning a good living is way up on your goal sheet, you’ll be happy to know that the average salary of a typical IT worker is considerably greater than with much of the rest of industry.

The search for certified IT specialists is a fact of life for many years to come, due to the ongoing development in the technology industry and the huge shortage still in existence.

Don’t put too much store, like so many people do, on the training course itself. Your training isn’t about getting a plaque on your wall; this is about gaining commercial employment. You need to remain focused on where you want to go.

It’s a terrible situation, but the majority of trainees commence training that sounds wonderful from the sales literature, but which provides a job that is of no interest. Try talking to typical university graduates to see what we mean.

Be honest with yourself about what you want to earn and what level of ambition fits you. Usually, this will point the way to which exams you’ll need to attain and what you can expect to give industry in return.

We advise all students to talk with highly experienced advisors before they embark on a study path. This gives some measure of assurance that it contains the relevant skills for the chosen career.
