So how do you tell if you have psychic abilities or not? One way is with a psychic abilities quiz. There are two types of quiz. Both have advantages and disadvantages.

The first type involves cards with symbols on them (classically circles, squares etc). Your task to predict which symbol comes next. This type of test has been widely used in esp testing and has been around since the 1970s.

But this test has a big problem (apart from Bill Murray). It is mainly a test of one type of ESP - clairvoyance. But there are many other types of psychic abilities - including clairsentience (the ability to feel others emotions and feelings) and clairaudience (the ability to know psychic information by hearing).

The other way of measuring psychic ability uses a right-brained method. It relies on recognising patterns of experience and behaviour that are more likely to be associated with psychic ability (either obvious or hidden), and not on a one-off measure often set in laboratory conditions. This style of psychic quiz asks obvious questions like “are you able to predict future events?” but also more subtle ones like “do you have vivid dreams in colour?”. This type of test is also easy to take over the net or using a computer, because it relies on self-knowledge and not the real-time prediction of a very narrow set of symbols.

So it might ask questions like the following: 1. Do you often see movement out of the corner of your eye but when you turn your head there is nothing there? 2. Do you often know which song will be playing on the radio before you turn it on? 3. Do you feel bad inside after watching the TV news? 4. Have you ever felt that you influenced the outcome of a dice roll or board game with your mind? 5. Do you often experience feelings, sounds or images when you walk into a new building?
